Australia. A continent known for its amazing wildlife, natural beauty, abundance of climatic zones, and a rapidly growing tech and entrepreneurial industry. That’s right, the land down under’s tech sector and economy has skyrocketed in the last 2 years! Which is just one reason we love our hackathons there!
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the total valuations of all investments by Venture Capitalists and Later Stage Private Equity rose 11% representing ($8.8 billion in 693 investment deals). Now, what does that mean exactly? It means there is quite some potential for startups and developing firms to establish themselves in this industry. Why am I telling you this information? Well, we just couldn’t ignore those numbers, so we’re coming back to Australia.

We’re teaming up with BlueChilli to bring one of our most influential hackathons to Sydney, Australia! BlueChilli “connects corporates, investors, and entrepreneurs to solve the world’s greatest challenges.” But that’s not all. BlueChilli connects investors with a high caliber portfolio of startups and entrepreneurs.
These people basically do it all. BlueChilli has been incubating successful startups since 2012, acquiring many awards in the process. To be honest, I don’t think they plan on stopping any time soon .
They just keep rolling out amazing initiatives that foster the best talent in Australia. In fact they just launched a new one called SheStarts. This is an amazing program that will fund and accelerate10 female entrepreneurs who are building startups in 2016. Pretty cool right? Well, guess what, you too have a shot at being entered into the program! The winner of our Lady Problems Sydney Hackathon will receive a rocket ship entry into the SheStarts bootcamp and the chance to pitch for a place into the program and documentary series
