hackseoul is part of AngelHack’s The Global Hackathon Series and will be held on the 8th and 9th November 2025.
Who can participate in hackseoul?
We want anyone with ideas or the passion to innovate to participate. That said, all participants must be 18 years old and above.
Must I be able to speak or understand Korean to participate in hackseoul?
While hackseoul welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds, please note that there will be some keynote sessions conducted exclusively in Korean and there may be judges that are more proficient in Korean than English. Therefore, we strongly recommend for participants who are not fluent in Korean to consider teaming up with at least one native Korean speaker to ensure a smoother experience during the hackathon.
While not strictly mandatory, Korean language skills will significantly enhance your participation and networking opportunities during hackseoul!
When does the hackathon registration close?
Registration opens on 22 September 2025 and closes on 7 November 2025, 11:59 PM (GMT +9).
Will I need a team to participate?
You’re absolutely welcome to participate solo in hackseoul! However, it’s important to keep in mind that only teams can submit hackathon projects. A team can consist of 1 to 4 members. If you’re looking for a team or additional team members, we’ve allocated time on Day 1 of the hackathon specifically for team formation. We strongly encourage participants to collaborate with others and form teams during this period. Teaming up allows you to incorporate diverse skillsets and perspectives into your project, enhancing your overall experience!
Do all of my team members have to register for hackseoul?
Yes! Anyone who wishes to participate in hackseoul must register individually via Luma.
What happens to the projects developed during the hackathon after the event?
Participants will wholly own the intellectual property rights to the projects they develop during the hackathon. There are no obligations for participants to share, license, or commercialize their projects. Your creations are yours to explore and develop as you see fit.
