hacksingapore 2024 was a resounding success, showcasing the vibrant tech community and passion for innovation in Singapore. Hosted at the state-of-the-art DBS Asia X @ Eclipse, this 24-hour hackathon brought together 350 talented individuals eager to tackle challenges unique to the Lion City.
A Diverse Community of Problem Solvers
From seasoned developers to aspiring entrepreneurs, hacksingapore welcomed a diverse range of participants eager to make a difference. The atmosphere was electric, fostering collaboration and creativity as participants joined forces to develop groundbreaking solutions.
Solving Singapore’s Challenges Through Technology Aligned with the hackglobal themes of Financial Inclusion, Social Responsibility, and Digital Empowerment, the challenge statements at hacksingapore addressed critical issues facing Singapore:
- Financial Inclusion: Empowering Singapore’s ageing population to achieve a financially secure retirement amidst rising living costs.
- Social Responsibility: Leveraging Singapore’s digital connectivity to enhance civic participation and community engagement.
- Digital Empowerment: Improving commuter experiences in Singapore’s smart city environment.
Teams rose to the occasion, creating 78 innovative projects in just 24 hours. Mentors and judges from Singapore’s flourishing tech scene offered invaluable guidance and support. The expertise and mentorship provided were particularly inspiring, encouraging participants to push boundaries and think outside the box.
Relax, Recharge, and Innovate Recognizing the intensity of hackathons, we partnered with the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped to provide participants with relaxing massages. This initiative not only offered much-needed stress relief but also championed inclusivity and celebrated the talents of the visually impaired community.
Showcasing Ingenuity and Impact
The project presentations were a testament to the ingenuity and passion of the participants. Each team showcased unique solutions with the potential to create real-world impact on issues that matter to Singaporeans.
The closing ceremony celebrated the achievements of all involved, with the top 3 teams from each track receiving awards. The calibre of projects was so exceptional that we faced an unprecedented tie for the Grand Winner title. In a thrilling turn of events, both Team Triple-E and Team :] were crowned Grand Winners, earning their spots at the hackglobal Grand Finals in Singapore this October.

Social Responsibility Winner: Team Kyzn’s “VolunteerConnect” platform uses interactive role-play to enhance communication skills and empathy when engaging with the elderly.
Digital Empowerment Winner: Team :]’s “GeoMemory” platform transforms commutes into interactive journeys of discovery, allowing users to capture and share memories tied to specific locations.
