Nearly a month has passed since HackWarsaw, and the excitement is still palpable. Hosted at the Google for Startups Campus, this electrifying 24-hour hackathon united 327 brilliant minds, all driven by a shared passion for innovation.
Uniting Diverse Problem Solvers
Developers, from students to seasoned professionals, came together to tackle the unique challenges facing Warsaw, transforming ideas into impactful solutions.
Solving Warsaw’s Challenges Through Technology
Aligned with the hackglobal themes of Financial Inclusion, Social Responsibility, and Digital Empowerment, the challenge statements at hackwarsaw addressed pertinent problems facing Warsaw:
- Financial inclusion: Develop a project that stimulates local innovation and fosters a collaborative civic environment.
- Social Responsibility: Develop a solution that encourages citizens to participate in Warsaw’s environmental sustainability efforts.
- Digital Empowerment: Develop a solution that utilises an Avalanche Subnet to help Warsaw residents of all ages and backgrounds become more comfortable using blockchain technology in everyday life.
The teams rose to the occasion, creating 33 innovative projects within the short timeframe of 24 hours. Reputable and experienced mentors and judges from Warsaw’s tech scene provided guidance and support. The expertise and mentorship given inspired participants to dig deeper into their own communities’ struggles and uncover solutions to improve their lives.
Unleashing Innovation & Impact
The project presentations showcased the participants’ remarkable creativity and dedication. With each team unveiling unique solutions, the potential for real-world impact on issues crucial to Warsaw was evident.
In a celebratory closing ceremony, the accomplishments of all involved were honoured, and the top three teams from each track were awarded for their outstanding efforts. Team SmileUp was crowned the Grand Winner for their solution under the Financial Inclusion track, earning their spots at the hackglobal Grand Finals in Singapore this October.
