Aptos Horizon Accelerator: Empowering Global Web3 Innovation In Japan

Overview

From April to June 2025, AngelHack partnered with Aptos Foundation—the leading layer-1 blockchain platform—to deliver the Aptos Horizon Accelerator, Japan’s first government-supported Web3 accelerator. Backed by the Osaka Prefecture Government, NTT West, HashPort, and more, this 8-week immersive program in Osaka was designed to help Web3 startups achieve global scale.

An Innovative Web3 Ecosystem: To foster high-potential blockchain startups and position Japan as a leader in decentralized innovation.
Tangible Economic Impact: To empower teams to meaningfully contribute to both Japan’s digital economy and the global blockchain landscape.

What We Do

AngelHack is entrusted with managing the entire accelerator for Aptos, from initial planning to on-the-ground execution, delivering logistics, operations, and ongoing support across the full 8 weeks in Osaka for all participating startups.

Cohort Selection & Community Building

We curated a global cohort of 10 startups across DeFi, Gaming, NFTs, AI, and Real World Assets (RWAs). Community flourished through immersive experiences—including networking dinners, a team excursion to the Osaka World Expo, and premium workshops.

Expert-Led Learning & Hands-on Mentorship

Industry leaders from organizations like Nozomi, LayerZero, GSR, OKJ, and Legion conducted workshops and mentorship sessions covering vital topics such as tokenomics, fundraising, and market growth.

Cohort Support & Demo Day

Travel, accommodation, and living expenses for cohorts were fully supported, allowing them to focus on innovation. The program culminated in a high-profile Demo Day in Osaka, livestreamed globally, attracting over 60 attendees including VCs, partners, and public sector leaders.
