Are you ready for the biggest, baddest, most awesomest demo day of the year?! Yes, Global Demo Day is coming back on October 30th, at the University of San Francisco’s Presentation Theatre. This year marks our fourth batch, and we’re going bigger than ever with over 100 investors, recruiters, and our panel of celebrity judges.
Yup, we do mean “celebrity.” This year, we have Ben Parr, founder of DominateFund, author of Captivology, and AngelHack’s beloved advisor; Ryan Hoover, founder of ProductHunt, and representatives from the world’s top three accelerators: Y-Combinator, TechStars and 500 Startups. Have all three ever been in the same room, until now? We think not!
Global Demo Day marks the end of our HACKcelerator program, where after 12 weeks of hard work, our teams are flown in from all over the world to participate in the world’s most diverse demo day, showing off and pitching their products in front of some of the tech industry’s most influential entrepreneurs and investors.
This year’s teams are not only diverse in country of origin, but also in product category. They built products in entertainment, social media, lifestyle, health, hardware, utility, and much more – so whatever you’re into, we’ve got you!
We all know how tough it is to woo Silicon Valley’s elite in three minutes, but our teams have always pulled through. SlickLogin and Appetas, both HACKcelerator graduates, were acquired by Google. Fosubo, graduates and winners of our 2013 batch, are now operating in over 100 Verizon Authorized Retail Stores and have expanded their operations over six different states. Other teams have secured up to $5,000,000 in seed funding at the event, while still others have gone on to perfect their products at full-time accelerators, including Y-Combinator, TechStars, and 500 Startups. Judging from the amount of traction our current teams have, we know this year will see many more success stories.
In fact, to celebrate this year’s batch, hackathon season, and demo day successes, we’re inviting everyone to wind down, turn up, and show the Bay how to really party at our annual Startup Bash. This year, we’ll be turning up (but keeping it classy, of course) at Roe SF, complete with an open bar until 1am, where shuttles will be taking our attendees after the demos have concluded.
